Divulging Difference

My name is Shaina Paggett, and I’m a Postgraduate English Literature student at Keele University. I am particularly interested in representations of of disability, neurodiversity, and mental illness in literature and television from the nineteenth century to the present day, in the hope of influencing media representations of these conditions for the better.

I don’t claim to be an expert about the conditions I’m analysing, and the thoughts and opinions expressed in this blog are based on a mixture of professional research and personal experience (I will clarify which where relevant). Most importantly, I want this blog to open conversations about the ways we could better represent difference in the media, so feel free to get in touch!
